Soils marked by human activity are often perceived as sterile, yet they are living archives where ecological, historical and political dimensions intertwine. The publication A GARDEN, A CITY, A FOREST explores these fragile environments as reservoirs of new forms of habitability and reveals different practices of caring for territories.
Conceived as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities, it combines a multilingual lexicon, images and sensitive fragments to renew our understanding of soils and the living world. It brings together materials collected through artistic research conducted in three contrasting territories: the Bay of Marseille (marine environment), the Galician forests (forest ecosystems), and former railway and industrial lands in Sofia (herbaceous and post-industrial landscapes).
